I recently had a lush conversation on the Menstruality Podcast with Sophie, and I wanted to share it here because it feels like a bit of a milestone for me.
Last year, I spent three deep months on the Menstruality Leadership Programme with Red School. It was a time where things quietly but firmly shifted. I slowed down, listened in more closely, and started to trust what my body had been telling me for years. That work didn’t just add to my knowledge, it completely changed how I relate to myself and how I show up in the world.
So to now be sitting on the other side, sharing my voice on the podcast, felt pretty special.
What we talked about
Sophie and I spoke about the relationship between breath and the menstrual cycle, and why they’re so deeply intertwined. How breath isn’t just something we use to calm down, but a constant source of information. A way back into the body. A way of listening.
We chatted about how breath can support you through each phase of your cycle, my own history with my cycle, the time I spent on the Menstruality Leadership Programme, and how all of that has shaped the work I now share, including Breathe With Your Cycle.
It wasn’t a neat or clinical conversation. It was honest, embodied, and rooted in lived experience.
Why this conversation mattered
The Red School and the menstruality work I did last year gave me language for things I’d felt for a long time but couldn’t quite name. It helped me understand my cycle as something intelligent, not inconvenient. Something to work with, not override.
Being part of the Menstruality Podcast felt like standing in that knowing and sharing it out loud.
Breath. Cycles. Inner listening.
Not as separate practices, but as one ongoing conversation.
Have a listen
If you’re curious about breath, menstrual cyle, or what it really looks like to live cyclically in a very linear world, I think you’ll enjoy this one.
You can listen to the episode HERE.
I’m really grateful to Sophie, to Red School, and to this work for continuing to shape not just what I offer, but how I live.
Got any questions about the podcast, your breath, your cycle or working with me pop me and email: Harriette@inexhale.co.uk. I’d love to have a chat!
